It's Time for Slime

Last week, during one of Ryder's fifteen minute naps, Parker and I made slime.  It was quick and easy and we had it made before Ryder woke up from his nap.  Parker chose to make blue slime and he was a great helper.  He's had lots of fun playing with his slime!

This could be a fun favor for a birthday party, especially if you are having a Ghostbusters themed party.

How to Make Slime

Slime Ingredients:
  • 1 - 4 oz Bottle of Elmer's Glue
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • Food Coloring
  • 2 teaspoons Borax
  • 1/3 Cup Warm Water
Instructions:

Mix together Elmer's glue and 1 cup water, then add a few drops of food coloring.  In a separate bowl, mix Borax and 1/3 cup water, until Borax is dissolved.  Please note, that you will not use all of the Borax solution.  While stirring continuously, add a couple spoonfuls of the Borax solution to the glue solution, until you reach your desired consistency.  The more Borax solution you add the harder the slime will get.  Then its playtime!  I re-used a few baby food containers, to store the slime in.

Now is a good time to stock up on art supplies for the year, when all the back to school supplies are pretty cheap.  I like to stock up on boxes of crayons, paints and glue.
