Valentinesque Centerpiece

I wanted a little Valentine's Day decor out, but didn't want anything too cheesy, so I created this quick centerpiece.  I gathered all my red vases, I had around the house and spray painted a few bottles to create this Valentinesque centerpiece.  Occasionally, I save our empty glass bottles of varying sizes and shapes to create a stockpile for projects like this.  This time I included a plastic creamer bottle to the mix.  I spray painted the bottles red, light pink and white.  You might notice there isn't any white bottles in the pictures, that's because they didn't turn out.  It was probably a combination of using cheap spray paint and the freezing temperature in our garage, that caused the white bottles not to turn out.  I used Krylon spray paint in ballet slipper pink and cherry red and those turned out pretty good, even with the cold temperature in the garage.  I think its a fun centerpiece and I like the red and pink together.

5 Years

Chris and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on January 8th.  The traditional 5th year anniversary gift is wood, so instead of gifts, we decided to stay in a wood cabin.  I got a great deal on Groupon for a two night stay at Gaynor's River Bend Ranch, in Whitefish, MT, so that's where we headed for the weekend, with our two boys.

We had a great weekend, in our cozy little cabin.  Parker stayed in the blue room (picture below) and loved it.  He kept showing Chris and I his room and pointing out his bed, his nightstand, his lamps, his clock, his Kleenex, etc.  He also had fun climbing up the ladder to the loft.

Chris and I got to relax in the hot tub both nights.  We could see the front door of the cabin from the hot tub and we had the baby monitor with us, so the kiddos were safe.  Although, I was super paranoid the second night, I heard some sort of animal and I was convinced it was going to come and attack us.  It was probably just a horse, but to my knowledge all of the horses were on the other side of the ranch, so who knows.  Plus, it was dark, we couldn't see anything and we were in the middle of nowhere.  I wanted to get back in the cabin!

Saturday morning we enjoyed a yummy, late breakfast at Loula's Cafe and then headed to the Public Beach, so Parker could get some rock throwing in.  That boy loves to throw rocks!  We had the whole beach to ourselves, probably not too unexpected since it was a pretty chilly day.

Parker enjoyed the horses and the dogs at the ranch, there must have been 7 dogs.  He probably would have had more fun in warmer weather, there were a couple teepee's and a play house he could have played in.

Saturday night, we headed to the Great Northern Brewery and shared a $5 pitcher.  We didn't drink it all, but it was cheaper than two pints.  Parker enjoyed a special glass full of Root Beer.  Afterwards, we headed to Pescado Blanco for a less than enjoyable dinner.  The food was good, but our boys were not cooperating, so we headed back to our cozy cabin for a relaxing night.

2 Months

My baby is two months old and getting cuter everyday!  He is such a happy baby and usually sleeps for one 4 1/2 - 5 hour stretch at night, which makes for a happy mama.  Ryder had his two month check up the other day and is 12 lbs 1 oz.  He's packing on the pounds!  I love to kiss his chubby cheeks!  Check out how Ryder has grown since last month here.

Here are pictures from his 2 month photo shoot.  I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures, so there are kind of a lot of them.  I just love all his faces!

Announcing Ryder Norman

Here is the announcement we sent out for Ryder.  I had fun taking pictures of this cute little guy.  I can't believe he's going to be eight weeks old tomorrow.

In case any of you are wondering where Norman came from, it was my great-grandpa's middle name.  Albert "Obbie" Norman Berg was the kindest, most generous man I have known.  I think he would be happy to know I had two boys, since he had two girls and his girls had girls :)  I wish I had a picture of him on my computer to share.  I'll add scanning old pictures to my computer, to my ever growing to-do list.

Here are a few extra pictures from our photo shoot.  Enjoy!
